Artist Statement
I have been a traditional Painter all my life. In 1991, I transitioned from oil on canvas to a mouse and monitor.
Photoshop was brand new back then. Graphic Artists, Photographers, and Designers began to create abstract images with the program by using it to alter and manipulate photographs. They created a whole new art form that slowly evolved into Fine Art. But my work was different. I didn't use photographs. I found ways to combine the tools and effects into formulas that generate images. Images of various forms, textures, designs and patterns. The images that are selected for a design are arranged in layers to build the composition. It's almost the same way that I paint. Over the years, this intricate collage technique has developed into many different styles. The process is intensive, but the subject matter is easy. I'm a hopeless romantic, whether it be a long-forgotten memory, a present state of mind, or a fantasy daydream. I enjoy using subject, style, movement, color, and contrast to project intense feeling, like inspirational music. Most of these paintings are fifteen to twenty five years old. Thank you for viewing them.
